Last year we celebrated our 275th Birthday.
Founded in 1733 we are the longest established firm of solicitors in the Thames Valley and the 25th oldest in the country. Last year we celebrated our 275th anniversary.
Whilst we are proud of our heritage we realise that it is not a reason for our clients to use us for their legal services and we continue working hard to ensure we remain as relevant to them today as we have always been.
We certainly have no intention of slowing down. In fact in 2007 the firm witnessed one of the best years in its history with turnover growing by 20%, one of the highest figures for any firm in the country. We also entered the UK’s Top 200 law firms for the first time, one of only nine firms in the region to be listed.
Of our 17 partners, eight are recognised as leaders in their fields of practice by their industry peers while eleven of our practice areas are highly rated by the legal directories, an outstanding figure for a firm of our size and testament to the quality of the solicitors that we have developed and recruited.
In 2007 we introduced a new practice management system which allows us to work smarter and provide an enhanced service to our clients whilst at the start of our anniversary year, in 2008, we launched a new, more modern look to the firm to help us communicate our values and our services more clearly to the market.
However, over the course of more than 275 years there is one thing that has never really changed about us: our belief in providing a high quality, personal service to all our clients. These are values that have held true throughout the four centuries in which we have existed, forming the cornerstone of our relationships with our clients, many of which have spanned the generations and remain with us to this day.
