It’s our birthday
This year we are celebrating our 275th Birthday.
Founded in 1733 we are the longest established firm of solicitors in the Thames Valley and the 25th oldest in the country.
Whilst this is a landmark that we are all proud of we realise that it is not a reason by itself for our clients to use us for their legal services and we continue working hard to ensure we remain as relevant to them today as we have always been.
We certainly have no intention of slowing down. In fact in 2007 the firm witnessed one of the best years in its history with turnover growing by 20%, one of the highest figures for any firm in the region. We also entered the UK’s Top 200 law firms for the first time, one of only nine firms in the region to be listed.
As we took on our 18th partner, six of those already here were recognised as national leaders by their industry peers while eleven of our practice areas were highly rated by the legal directories, an outstanding figure for a firm of our size and testament to the quality of the solicitors that we have developed and recruited.
Last November we introduced a new practice management system which will allow us to work smarter and provide an enhanced service to our clients, whilst in January this year we launched a new, more modern visual identity which will help us to communicate more clearly with the market.
However, as we take a deep breath to blow out the 275 candles on our birthday cake, there is one thing that has never changed: our belief in providing a high quality but personable service that reflects the character of our business and which has been the cornerstone of many relationships that have spanned the generations.
