The application process for 2012 vacation placements is now closed. For work experience in 2013, please re-visit our website to apply from December 2012.
A vacation placement provides a unique opportunity to gain an insight into what it is like to work for our firm. We offer eight students one week placements (four placements in the spring and four placements in the summer). We use the vacation placement scheme to identify potential recruits for our training contracts. The placement also allows you to find out if you would like to train with us.
During the placement week, you will spend time working in different practice areas and will be required to undertake legal work. This may include research, drafting letters and documents, attending client meetings and attending court. You will work closely with a current trainee in each discipline in addition to working with other lawyers. Attending the vacation placement is a full time commitment and students are expected to attend the whole of the one week placement. Normal working hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch. Please note we are unable to offer accommodation or reimbursement for travel.
Who should apply?
We select students from a wide range of universities and disciplines. Students who have, or expect to obtain, a minimum of a 2.1 degree are encouraged to apply. Please note our vacation placement scheme is for second or final year law students, final year non-law students and postgraduates.
