Making an Appointment and Visiting our Offices

We are firmly committed to proceeding safely and in line with the current guidance and the wellbeing of our clients, contacts and colleagues remains our first priority at all times.

Please find below helpful information on contacting your lawyer or adviser, making an appointment and visiting our offices.

Contacting your lawyer/adviser

Should you need to contact your lawyer or another member of our team at any time, please do so by email or telephone, using their details which can be found here. Alternatively, please telephone our main reception on 0118 951 6800 (Reading) or 01491 572 323 (Henley-on-Thames) between 9.00am – 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday, leaving a message if asked to do so. We will respond as soon as possible and thank you in advance for your patience.

Making an appointment

If you are an existing client, please contact your lawyer or adviser as above.

If you are a new client, our colleagues will discuss the most convenient and effective way for us to work together following your initial enquiry.

Face to face appointments

Our lawyers/advisers are available for pre-arranged face to face appointments with you at our offices in Reading and Henley-on-Thames.

Telephone or video appointments

Alternatively, should you prefer, we offer virtual appointments and can provide ongoing advice by telephone, video conferencing and email. We are experienced in working with our clients remotely and adept at dealing with matters on this basis, meaning that you can expect the same expert legal advice and excellent client care on which our reputation is based, however you choose to work with us.

Visiting our offices

Before your visit

Please do not visit our offices if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or are awaiting the result of a test.

To safeguard the wellbeing of our colleagues and anyone visiting our offices, we have introduced a series of measures to ensure that all of our offices are COVID-secure. These include:

  • Undertaking a full risk assessment of our offices and providing guidance on managing the risks of COVID-19 to all of our colleagues.
  • Completing a deep clean of our offices and implementing an enhanced daily cleaning schedule.
  • Reducing the number of face to face appointments taking place at our offices and the number of colleagues present during each working day, through a managed rota system.
  • Obtaining contact information from all clients and visitors.
  • Providing touch-free hand sanitiser stations at entrance and exit points.

During your visit

All clients visiting our offices will be asked to provide full and correct contact information prior to an appointment, so that they can be reached if needed.

The wearing of face coverings in our offices is not mandatory but clients and visitors are, of course, welcome to do so and, should you prefer your lawyer or adviser to wear a face covering when meeting with them, please advise us of this when arranging an appointment or simply ask upon your arrival.

Please use the touch-free hand sanitiser stations when entering and exiting our offices. Any other relevant information will be provided prior to a scheduled appointment at our offices.

Signposted toilets are available for clients on the ground floor of our offices. Please use the hand sanitiser provided after handwashing.

If you are required to sign documents, we can of course provide a new pen but you may wish to bring your own.

We will provide bottled water and disposable cups or you are welcome to bring your own refreshments. We apologise that we are unable to provide tea and coffee at this time.

After your visit

Any clients who experience symptoms of COVID-19 or test positive within 24 hours of visiting our offices are asked to please contact us immediately.

If you have any questions meanwhile, please do not hesitate to contact us.

A copy of our COVID-secure certificate is available here.

Meeting at another location

If we have arranged to meet with you at your home or business premises, please advise of any precautions or measures (for example, if you would like your lawyer or adviser to wear a face covering) you would like us to be aware of.

Meeting with a Notary

Clients requiring documents to be notarised should please contact notarialenquiries@blandy.co.uk. Please see COVID-19 and Making a Notarial Appointment (PDF) for further information.
