Applying for our support
We are currently inviting applications from local (not national) charities seeking our support for a two year period commencing 1 July 2018. If your charity would like to be considered please email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application form and further information.
Our staff regularly attend and support a wide range of charitable and community-focused events across the Thames Valley, ranging from university and school careers fairs to advice sessions for groups including carers and the elderly, charity golf days, quiz nights, sponsored runs and sporting challenges and Young Enterprise competitions. We also take part in national fundraising initiatives ranging from Jeans for Genes Day to Sue Ryder's Make a Will Fortnight and Will Aid.
Our staff are actively encouraged and supported to participate in volunteering opportunities and give their time generously. Examples include providing work experience, mentoring, teaching and involvement in organisations outside of work such as school governing bodies, PTAs, boards of local charities, sports teams, clubs and other groups.
In 2017 we hosted a 'wellbeing week' for our staff, combining a series of guest talks on subjects including mental health awareness and living a healthy lifestyle with a range of social and fun events raising money for Reading Samaritans. Throughout the year, we host and attend a wide range of charitable events including staff events, raffles and silent auctions, quizzes, walks and runs and other sporting challenges.
We understand that we have a responsibility to protect the natural environment for future generations and are committed to reducing our impact on the environment.
