Blandy & Blandy LLP Appoints New Joint Managing Partner

Management team

Blandy & Blandy LLP, which has offices in Reading and Henley-on-Thames, has announced Tim Clark as its new joint managing partner.

Tim takes over the role from long serving joint managing partner Philip D’Arcy, who has been a member of the firm’s management team for nearly thirty years. Philip will continue as head of Blandy & Blandy’s Dispute Resolution team.

Tim will work closely alongside fellow joint managing partner Jonathan Gater and the firm’s chairman, Brenda Long.

A partner in the firm’s highly regarded Employment team, Tim is an expert in dealing with recruitment, re-organisation and restructuring and very experienced in the strategic aspects of large scale workforce projects. He works very closely with the firm’s corporate, commercial and charity specialists.

Welcoming Tim into his new role, Brenda said: “On behalf of the entire firm, I would like to thank Phil for the dedication and commitment he has brought to the role of joint managing partner, over many years, which has been an important factor in the firm’s long term growth and success.

Congratulations to Tim, who was a unanimous choice among partners. I have no doubt that his experience and expertise, along with new ideas, will prove to be invaluable as we move forward.”

Tim added: “Blandy & Blandy has grown and evolved tremendously since I joined over 20 years ago. I have really enjoyed being part of that process and am proud of what we have achieved. Working alongside Jonathan, Brenda and the rest of our team, I am now looking forward to helping to lead Blandy & Blandy into the future.

I am particularly excited at the prospect of bringing my experience of working closely with the firm’s experts in our commercial teams, and our commercial clients, to the management of the firm and building on our reputation as a firm which forges close working partnerships with landowners, developers, lenders, entrepreneurial private businesses of all sizes, charities and educational institutions, whilst continuing the great success of our renowned private client offering.”

2017 has been another very successful year for Blandy & Blandy. The firm has enjoyed continued growth, both in terms of turnover and headcount, with its new Henley offices going from strength to strength. Blandy & Blandy was once again ranked among the leading planning law firms in the UK and was recently named ‘Property Law Firm of the Year’ at the Thames Valley Property Awards. The firm was also named as a finalist at the Thames Valley Deals Awards and the ESTAS Conveyancing Awards. All of the firm’s teams are ranked in one or both of The Legal 500 and Chambers UK Guide and Blandy & Blandy was recently named as the only top tier firm in ‘Reading and the surrounds’ for ‘private wealth law’ in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide.
