Blandy & Blandy Promotes “Looking After Ourselves and Our Planet”

Blandy & Blandy LLP kicked off the firm’s staff Wellbeing Week on Monday 15 October, with a lunchtime ‘wellbeing walk’.

Throughout the week staff will enjoy a variety of activities, ranging from yoga meditation session to massages, while complimentary fruit will be available to all.

Staff will also be bidding to win prizes including an extra day’s annual leave and a pair of Nirvana Spa experience vouchers through a raffle raising funds for the firm’s adopted charities, Age UK Berkshire and League of Friends of the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Chairman Brenda Long explained: “This week is an important opportunity to remind ourselves of the importance of a healthy work-life balance and looking after ourselves.  Taking care of our staff and ensuring that they make time for themselves is very important to us.

As a firm we also do our bit to look after our planet – we aim to minimise our impact on the environment and, this week in particular, we will be reminding colleagues of our relevant polices and best practice in relation to this. For example, we have already long removed disposable plastic drinks cups from all of our premises and this week we will be continuing to provide canvas shopping bags to colleagues, encouraging them not to buy and use plastic alternatives during their working day.

On a more significant level, as a firm we are working towards the aim of not purchasing any goods which contain plastic where a sensible alternative is available, which we hope to have in place by the start of our next financial year.”
