Blandy & Blandy’s Ellie Emberson Elected as Councillor

Ellie Emberson, a legal secretary in Blandy & Blandy LLP’s Commercial Property team, was voted in as one of the youngest representatives in the country in the recent local elections.

At 19 Ellie also became the youngest woman to win a seat on Reading Borough Council. The average age of councillors in the borough is currently around 65.

Ellie initially joined the firm as a business support apprentice in March 2017, before joining the Commercial Property team permanently in September last year. She is currently studying for a Law degree part-time at the Open University.

Ellie said: “I am delighted and proud to have been elected as one of the youngest councillors in the country. The firm has been very supportive in my progression both at work and within politics. I am looking forward to the next four years as a Reading Borough councillor with the continued support of my team.”

Chairman Brenda Long congratulated Ellie on her success in a message to all staff.
