Joanne Frears is a partner in our Corporate & Commercial team, specialising in intellectual property and technology. The team operates across our Reading, Henley-on-Thames and London offices.

She advises companies on commercialisation and protection of their copyright and patents (in UK, Europe and the US) and on data protection, cybersecurity and brand management. She has a particular focus on technology businesses, where she acts as in-house counsel to her clients, advising on software development and suppliers on framework agreements, license and service agreements. She also advises film and production companies, writers, performers and theatrical agents in relation to contracts for theatre and film, options and royalty agreements.

Joanne is a contributor and editor of data protection and technology precedents for Lexis Nexis and regularly lectures to and writes for the technology press.
