Jonathan Gater is one of the firm’s joint managing partners and head of our Probate Tax & Trusts team, which spans our Reading, Henley-on-Thames and London offices.
Jonathan specialises in trust and estate administration, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters. He acts as Attorney for a number of clients, assisting them with the day-to-day management of their affairs and also regularly acts as Executor or Trustee for clients.
Jonathan works closely with the rest of his team, who are specialists in Court of Protection matters. They regularly act for people who are under the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection and are experienced in acting as independent Deputies for incapacitated people, and making deputyship applications for family members who wish to be appointed.
Jonathan is a qualified member of Solicitors for the Elderly, an independent, national organisation of lawyers (solicitors, barristers and legal executives) who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.
He is ranked in both The Legal 500 and Chambers HNW Guide, with clients acknowledging his "wealth of knowledge", especially in relation to "complex Court of Protection issues."
Since 2002, Jonathan has been the Under Sheriff for Berkshire and is he is also an authorised High Court Enforcement Officer.
