Debbie Brett is a partner in our Corporate & Commercial team and advises clients from our Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Wokingham offices, as well as remotely.

She advises on all aspects of commercial and regulatory law and is also experienced in handling commercial disputes. This includes the ability to advise on the project management of commercial transactions, including risk identification and allocation, negotiation, drafting and advising on appropriate documentation.

Debbie advises individuals, owner managed businesses and larger corporations on corporate and commercial matters arising throughout the lifecycle of their businesses, whether that is looking to raise initial funding, managing contractual risks or looking to exit or invest in another business. 

Debbie has particular expertise in intellectual property and advertising, marketing and brand protection, including advising on legal issues around copy and the defence of current campaigns.

She trained at Blandy & Blandy, becoming a partner in 2006. 

Debbie was previously a guest Editor of the Journal of Data Protection and Privacy, published by Henley Business School, and has produced articles for legal guide Lexis Nexis. She is recommended for her expertise in The Legal 500

  • Advising on private equity investment into fast growing start-up in the retail sector.
  • Acting for the shareholders New Vision Software Limited and Roseta Software Limited in the sale of their interests to Huboo Technologies Limited, a leader in ecommerce fulfilment.
  • Advising a designer and manufacturer of hardware solutions across retail, hospitality, banking and finance sectors in connection with ongoing trade mark matters including oppositions to existing UK and EU registrations before the UK IPO and EUIPO, negotiation and documentation of coexistence terms.
