Blandy & Blandy Advises Pets’ Kitchen Ltd on the Sale of Vet’s Kitchen

Blandy & Blandy has advised Swindon-based Pets’ Kitchen Ltd on the sale of its Vet’s Kitchen premium pet food division to Pets Choice, based in Lancashire.

Focused upon dry dog and cat food, the Vet’s Kitchen brand will join Pets Choice’s brands including Webbox, Bob Martin, Felight, TastyBone and B-Calm.

The deal will enable Pets' Kitchen Ltd to concentrate on the development of the company’s clinical veterinary practices, under the Vet's Klinic brand.

A long-term collaboration agreement between the two companies will continue, in support of both Vet's Kitchen’s and Vet's Klinic’s operations.

Laura Shears, managing director of Pets’ Kitchen, said: "We have just opened our second, state of the art, ‘Vet’s Klinic’ veterinary practice in Reading and we have been seeking to divest our pet food division whilst maintaining an ongoing association.

"We are delighted that we can hand over the Vet’s Kitchen brand to Pets Choice and to continue with a collaboration agreement for the long-term benefit of both companies.”

Debbie Brett and Adam Chalker, in Blandy & Blandy’s Corporate & Commercial team, acted for Pets’ Kitchen Ltd, supported by Tim Clark, a partner in the firm’s Employment Law team.

Partner Debbie Brett said: “We were delighted to work with Laura Shears and the Pets’ Kitchen team, and to advise on this important deal for the company alongside James Cowper Kreston. I have no doubt that Pets’ Kitchen will continue to go from strength to strength and look forward to seeing the company’s further development of its clinical veterinary practice, Vet’s Klinic.”
