Blandy & Blandy Supports Dementia Friends Campaign

Blandy & Blandy is supporting the Alzheimer’s Society’s ‘Dementia Friends’ initiative.

Every solicitor and legal assistant in the firm’s leading Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts team has attended face-to-face training sessions to help increase their understanding of dementia and how best to advise and support those living with Dementia and their families.

According to the Alzheimer’s Society, around 850,000 people in the UK are currently living with some form of Dementia which can be caused by a number of conditions that affect the brain. The most common being Alzheimer’s.

The charity explained: “People living with Dementia can feel lonely and excluded and making people aware of the disease will help them understand what it is like for that person that has been diagnosed and how they feel. People with Dementia can feel frustrated and sad and with a greater understanding of the disease, you can help that person feel more comfortable and secure.”

Caroline  Casagranda, a partner in Blandy & Blandy’s Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts team, said: “This is a further extension of our commitment to providing our clients with legal advice and a service tailored to meet their individual needs. We provide those living with Dementia, and their families, with a trusted, understanding and valued experience.

Dementia can affect all of us and it is not an older person’s disease. Young people can be affected too. We are proud to have previously supported and donated £15,000 to local charity, Younger People with Dementia.”
