Partner Nick Burrows, head of Blandy & Blandy’s Charities & Education team, spoke at the Berkshire Community Foundation’s annual Charity Symposium on 11 October 2021.
The well-attended event welcomed attendees representing charities and community groups based across Berkshire.
Nick outlined the provisions of the Charities Bill 2021-2022 (currently going through Parliament), which is intended to reduce the bureaucracy and red tape faced by charities, and to make is easier for them to deliver their services to their beneficiaries.

The Berkshire Community Foundation aims to “encourage individuals, businesses and local organisations to ‘think local’ and ‘give local’ and supports community-based organisations focused on helping disadvantaged people in Berkshire.”
On the same day, the Foundation shared its 2021 Impact Report, highlighting that it has provided £3.2 million in grants, supported 230 charities and helped 1.5 million people during what has been a very challenging year.
