Colleagues recently took time away from their desks to spend an afternoon volunteering in the Royal Berkshire Hospital’s new health and wellbeing garden.
Located opposite the Royal Berkshire Hospital’s main entrance, the garden is part of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust's purpose-built staff health and wellbeing centre, one of the first of its kind in the country.
For the past three years Blandy & Blandy has supported the Royal Berks Charity as one if its adopted charities, the other being BIBS – Babies in Buscot Support, which is also based at the Hospital.
Kate Martin, Corporate Fundraising Manager at the Royal Berks Charity, said: “Having the team from Blandy & Blandy helping in the garden helps us to achieve more, making the space as interesting as possible for staff using the Wellbeing Centre now we’re moving into the warmer months. It gives our gardening team a chance to explain the importance of the space and how it impacts the Carbon Neutral plan of the Trust.”
Partner Claire Dyer, added: ‘It was a genuine pleasure to spend some time helping out in this excellent new facility. Being in the garden and assisting Chris and his team progress their work enabled us to experience first-hand how this space is already benefitting staff at the Hospital. It has a real sense of calm which I am sure will be a benefit to all who use it.”
Blandy & Blandy made its latest donation to the Royal Berks Charity as a thank you to head gardener Chris Cox and colleagues at the Royal Berks Charity.
