Blandy & Blandy has unveiled Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service and Thames Valley Air Ambulance as its adopted charities for the next two years.
The firm, which has offices in Reading, Henley-on-Thames and Wokingham, has supported local charities Berkshire Women’s Aid and The Cowshed since 2023.
Claire Dyer, chair and partner at Blandy & Blandy, said: “Thank you to all of the wonderful charities that applied for our support. We received over 50 applications and, naturally, we wish we were able to help all of them.
As we say a very fond farewell to our outgoing adopted charities, who have been a pleasure to partner with, we look forward to working with Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service and Thames Valley Air Ambulance over the next two years.
They are fantastic charities, providing vital services in our region. Having seen first-hand the support offered to a colleague by both charities recently, it has really brought home the invaluable role they play in our local community.”
Tai Bishop, Lead for Corporate and Community Partnerships at Alexander Devine Children's Hospice Service, commented: “Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service are delighted to be chosen as one of the charities supported by Blandy & Blandy for the next two years. Their generous partnership will enable us to continue providing specialist care and vital support to over 200 children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families across Berkshire.
Together, we create treasured family memories, precious smiles and deliver the highest standard of care, a mission that simply wouldn't be possible without the kindness of companies like theirs. With over £3 million needed annually, and 83% of our funding coming from the community, we really do rely on the generosity of the general public to deliver our lifeline services. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone at Blandy & Blandy for choosing to support our cause; together, we will be making a vital difference for the families who need it most.”
Emma Riley, Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships at Thames Valley Air Ambulance, added: “We’re delighted to be chosen as one of Blandy & Blandy’s adopted charities. On average, our crews are called out nine times a day to bring advanced critical care when it’s needed most. But we couldn’t do that without the generous support of our community, and that includes vital partnerships with local organisations like Blandy & Blandy. We’re excited to see what we can achieve together over the next two years.”
Blandy & Blandy will also continue to support numerous other good causes in the area, including Launchpad Reading’s Pancake Race and the Reading Legal Walk, The Henley Arts Trail and the town’s Kenton Theatre, Wokingham May Fayre and Winter Carnival and The Link Community Visiting Scheme, based in Wokingham.
Additionally, last year Blandy & Blandy received a special award from Cancer Research UK for administering £10.14 million in donations to CRUK and facilitating more than £2.15 million in legacy gifts via the charity’s Free Will Service.
