Blandy & Blandy’s Team Get on Their Bikes for Local Charities

Colleagues at Blandy & Blandy recently took to the saddle to raise money for two local charities, Age UK Berkshire and the League of Friends of the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Together they cycled over 160 miles on exercise bikes positioned outside the firm’s 1 Friar Street offices, raising £500 for the two charities.

Marketing Manager David Lamont, also chair of the firm’s charity committee, said: “Our thanks to Buzz Gym Reading for kindly loaning two bikes and for jumping on them during the day, as did seveeral guests from Ellis Knight Recruitment. Well done to all involved on an excellent amount raised for two fantastic local charities.”

Fiona Price, Chief Executive of Age UK Berkshire, joined the fundraising effort for the afternoon. She said: “Age UK Berkshire were proud to support Blandy & Blandy’s ‘Bikeathon’. The Blandy team’s effort was fantastic and the money raised will make a real different to older people in the area. Many thanks again to the firm.”

Martin Butler, Development Manager at the League of Friends of the Royal Berkshire Hospital, also paid the team a visit on the day and thanked everyone for their support.

Blandy & Blandy has donated over £60,000 to local charities in the past five years, while continuing to support annual fundraising events in Reading, including the Legal Walk, Santa Run and Pancake Race.
