Blandy & Blandy welcomed over 100 HR and business professionals to its annual Mock Employment Tribunal, held at Reading’s Green Park Conference Centre on 22 March.
“Performed” by the firm’s leading Employment Law team, the mock tribunal portrayed a maternity leave, return to work scenario involving proceedings relating to a request for flexible working and alleged unlawful sex discrimination.
The “case” had been chosen in advance by attendees, who were invited to select from several options when registering for the event. And the voting didn’t stop there. Before the “judge” (partner and team head Sue Dowling) outlined her decision, using their mobile devices guests were invited to vote on a series of elements as well as the overall outcome.
Also involved in proceedings were joint managing partner Tim Clark, associate solicitor Laura Binnie, solicitors Andrea Corr and Laura Evans and trainee solicitor Christopher Cameron.
100% of attendees said that they would recommend the Mock Employment Tribunal to others, with it described as “a great event”, “very informative”, “realistic”, “very relatable” and “excellent all round”.
Blandy & Blandy’s Employment Law team is highly ranked in the UK’s two major legal directories, The Legal 500 and Chambers UK Guide.
