Specialist Property Dispute & Litigation Solicitors and Legal Advice in Reading & Henley-on-Thames

We understand that an issue or dispute affecting property or land that you own or rent can place a significant strain on you and your family, as well as your financial situation.

Our team is experienced in advising on disputes involving the ownership of property or land, as well as the exercising of your rights - for example in relation to rights of way, rights of light and restrictive covenants. We also routinely advise both landlords and tenants on a broad range of matters, including drafting tenancy, licence and lodger agreements, Assured shorthold tenancies (ASTs), lease extensions and collective enfranchisement, rent arrears, breaches of leases or tenancies, adverse possession claims, trespassing and evictions, as well as providing more general advice.

Finding the right approach

We believe that it is important to address things early on, before matters escalate further. At an initial meeting, in person or remotely, a solicitor in our dedicated Dispute Resolution Law team will listen and help to assess your situation, advise on the strength of your case and discuss your options, to help achieve the best possible outcome for you. Our solicitors will always provide clear and up to date information on the anticipated timescales and costs and help to carefully manage both aspects on your behalf.

We can advise you in the early stages of a property dispute, perhaps before the matter has even become contentious, right through to its conclusion.

The next steps may involve “pre-action” correspondence with the other party, negotiation, other methods of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, applications through the Land Registry, or court or tribunal proceedings.

Naturally, we are highly experienced in pursuing and defending property disputes through litigation and in the Courts and tribunals but recognise the demands that unresolved disputes can place on you in terms of time and costs and will work to help you avoid the need for litigation where possible.

Experienced property dispute solicitors

Our Dispute Resolution team is recommended in the UK’s leading guides to law firms, Chambers UK and The Legal 500, whilst our successful approach is also reflected in the excellent client feedback we continue to receive.
