Senior Solicitor, Associate Solicitor and/or Partner, Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts (Minimum 5 years’ PQE)

This role:

We currently have a vacancy for a solicitor to join our Commercial Property team, based in Reading, with hybrid working.

Solicitor (2-5 years’ PQE)

You will work on a broad range of matters, including leasehold and freehold transactions, development work, secured lending and first registrations. You will have the opportunity to develop your own caseload but also to work with more experienced colleagues on larger projects. The team’s client base includes large landed estates and other landowners, developers, charities, universities and schools, lenders, businesses and private individuals.

We currently have a vacancy for a solicitor to join our Dispute Resolution team, consistently highly recommended in both Chambers UK and The Legal 500, based in Reading.

Solicitor (NQ-2 years’ PQE)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with a caseload of clients in conjunction with solicitors in the team and the Department Manager
  • Processing clients’ cases on a timely and cost effective basis
  • Maintaining the highest professional standards in accordance with the firm’s objectives and comply with the firm’s quality standards
  • Keeping clients fully informed of the range of services that the firm offers
  • Supporting business development and networking activities

The successful candidate will:

  • Have at least a 2.1 degree
  • Have completed at least one training seat in Dispute Resolution
  • Be enthusiastic and hard working
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with good written and verbal skills
  • Be a team player and reputable
  • Share and embody our values of excellence, integrity and approachability

  •  Managing an agreed caseload of clients, delegating to and supervising other team members
  • Processing clients’ cases on a timely and cost effective basis
  • Maintaining the highest professional standards in accordance with the firm’s objectives and comply with the firm’s quality standards

The successful candidate will:

  • A minimum of 4 years' PQE  as a solicitor or licensed conveyancer
  • Preferably have good local connections with agents and experience of business development

This varied role will primarily support the Commercial Property team based in our Reading office with secretarial and administrative support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Production of documents and correspondence as directed by lawyers
  • Efficient handling of telephone enquiries and calls
  • Provision of assistance to and dealing with tasks as delegated
  • File administration and data management

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have proficient knowledge of MS Word, other Office products and ideally experience of working with large databases as well as working in a professional environment are preferred
  • Experience would be useful with systems such as the Land Registry, property searches, Companies House and Docusign
  • Be a good team player with willingness to offer support to others in the team
  • Be enthusiastic, flexible and efficient with a helpful and friendly manner for dealing with clients and colleagues
